Title: Becoming a leader regardless of your title!

Good leaders are made, not born!  Do you know what it takes to be a leader regardless of your title? Have you mastered the “skills” required for success?  This highly interactive and dynamic presentation will walk you through the differences between a leader and a manger, explore the top traits of effective leaders and the top 7 behaviors required for success.  We will also explore the “rights” that people must give up in order become leaders.

This is an opportunity for you to engage with others, learn from a leader in the field and look internally to see what changes you must make in order to achieve the results you desire.   This presentation is a must for every member!

Topics Include:

  • The key differences between a manager and a leader.
  • The 7 key behaviors required for success.
  • The “rights” you have to give up when you decide to lead.

  • Specific actions one must take to be a leader.
  • Knowledge of the 10 Steps to become a Leader / better leader.
  • How to communicate as a leader (not a manager).

Pre-Meeting Workshop

Speakers: Graham Lucht & Danielle Lucht, Financial Specialists
Title: Happy 401k, Happy Employees, “HAPPY” Employer – How HR will handle a new future fiduciary role on retirement plans and best practices for a happy and healthy 401k.

We spend so much time worrying about “the now”, we rarely turn on focus to “the future”, the future built from the hard work and dreams that lie within our own company’s retirement plan. The Dept. of Labor plans to expand the definition of a retirement plan fiduciary; which potentially places HR professionals within that definition. HR professionals have an invaluable role to play in the oversight and fiduciary liabilities of retirement plans today and this presentation is designed to give HR professionals new knowledge and a roadmap for their role.

The presentation will cover:

  • The current retirement plan fiduciary landscape and the proposed future changes
  • The role, responsibility, and liability of a fiduciary role
  • Best practices and steps to implement for a healthy 401k that benefits the employees and creates a higher fiduciary coverage for all fiduciaries

This program has been applied for SHRM and HRCI Recertification credits.
