HRPBC January Dinner Event and Pre-Meeting Workshop - Boca Raton - January 21

Title: The Future of HR: Thinking and Talking Strategically
Presenter: J. Lenora Bresler

Program Description:
Everything you do for your business, be it recruiting, training, evaluating, or marketing, had better have a tangible, measurable impact on the bottom line -- not just money but goals and not just the goals that are framed on a wall, but the ones that REALLY matter. Retrain your mind to think strategically and learn how to communicate on that level with others, particularly decision-makers and top-level management in this interactive workshop designed for anyone who is tired of "playing" at business and is ready to catapult into real success.

As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Determine what is really driving C-suite decisions, which may be different from the formal stated mission, vision, and values
  • Analyze how well HR is currently perceived as a strategic partner and counselor
  • Gain instant credibility and present messages in a way most conducive to gaining the trust and engagement of the C-suite
  • Prioritize initiatives for the biggest strategic impact
  • Craft initiatives specifically tailored to advance the positional strategy of the organization
  • Identify appropriate metrics that will drive good strategic actions
  • Identify and minimize potential barriers
  • Publicize successes for optimal benefit to the organization as a whole and to HR as a department
  • Use mission, vision, and values of an organization to underpin every decision and initiative

Pre-Meeting Workshop

Title: Kill What’s Ugly While It’s Young
Presenter: Dr. James T. Brown

Program Description:
Issues organizations face should be identified, designated, individually assigned, prioritized, tracked by age and then dispositions when resolved. It is key that leaders identify small problems or “ugly” and fix them while they are still young. Many organizations get used to the problems and it becomes and acceptable part of the culture. Establishing accountability and trust can help identify the true priorities to address and move forward. Your goal should not be career growth for just the sake of getting promoted, the goal is to maximize the value you can provide to the organization and this means solving bigger problems and solving bigger problems isn’t about technology or analysis as much as it is about trust with the other humans in the system.

Learn why:

  • Success requires relentless commitment to individual and organizational improvement.
  • Building strong relationships, creating accountability and fostering supportive communication are all required.
  • The organizations ability to solve difficult and complex problems hinges on trust and relationships.
