Title: "Workplace Addiction and Support - Impact of Opioids in the Workplace"

Join us on January 16 at the West Palm Beach Embassy Suites. Alexia Touboul, LMHC - Clinical Director, Banyan Treatment Center will speak on "Workplace Addiction and Support - Impact of Opioids in the Workplace".

The Impact of Opioid Addiction in the Workplace discussion to include:

  • Drug and Alcohol addiction (general)
  • Emerging/designer drugs ie: fentanyl, benzos, etc. (specifics) 
  • Situations arising from drug use in the workplace 
  • Signs/SymptomsTreatment methods/approaches
  • Levels of care and what they mean
  • How to approach an employee who may be using
  • Things to do/not to do (scenarios)

  • ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Some people are unaware alcoholism is a disease and is considered a disability

Pre-Meeting Workshop

Title: "MAT (Medication Assisted Treatment) program"
Speaker: Chris Irizarry, MPA, VP & Executive Director of Clinical Services, Health Care District of Palm Beach County (Click here for bio) 

Mr. Irizarry will cover how to implement a strategy for creating and addressing an opioid epidemic in PBC. He will cover how PBHC developed a business plan, the needed staffing, expertise, direction and operational needs to implement such a program.

HR Pros will take away from this workshop the following:

  • How PBHD recognized the need for a program and how our HR pros can also recognize a similar need
  • Working strategically with management to identify shortages in the market and staffing needs involvement
  • Develop the operational needs, budget and project plan for implementation
  • Execute a program to ensure goals are met and success is achieved
This program has been applied for SHRM and HRCI Recertification credits.  

Due to high demand of our workshops, if you have registered for one, please arrive no later than 15 minutes of the start time to ensure entry into the workshop. Those arriving after the 15 minute window will not be permitted into the workshop.
