Boca Helping Hands (BHH) is a community-based 501(c)(3) organization that first opened as a Food Center in November 1998, serving nutritious hot lunches 3 days a week and giving out bags of groceries to families. An after-school sandwich program started in March 1999. The Food Program has expanded to five days a week and includes delivering home cooked meals to homebound disabled and elderly individuals. The organization opened an Assistance Center four years later in April 2002 with a focus on providing financial help for people in crisis situations (e.g., eviction, utility cancellation, prescription medication).
Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc. (BPHI), a 501(c)(3) organizatio that operates a 200-bed Broward County Central Homeless Assistance Center (Center) on the Huizenga Family Campus in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Center provides emergency housing and solution-focused services for homeless men, women and families with children. BPHI residents receive mental health counseling, primary medical and dental care, substance abuse treatment, case management, vocational training, employment services, and support services for the families including early education for preschool-aged children.

First Aid Station at the Northwood Career Fair

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO STAFF AN HR FIRST AID STATION AT THE NORTHWOOD CAREER FAIR 2010 ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31st!
We are looking for HRPBC volunteers to man the HR First Aid Station that will be located in the lobby of the Career Fair site. Our volunteers will be on-hand to assist the jobseekers with last minute preparation before they enter into the facility. This “First Aid” will include last minute review of resumes, advise on questions to ask, one last glance in the mirror to adjust attire, pick-up note pads or pens that were left behind, etc. Those interested in being part of the HR First Aid Station can alert me of their interest at WorkforceReadiness@hrpbc.org or by phone 434-8953.
